This fall starts my tenth year at Marlborough School--all girls, college prep, 7th-12th grades. I've always thought of myself as a Calculus teacher, but I've also taught some of our Geometry and Precalculus courses,  Algebra II for the first time last year and will be teaching it again this year. I'm also involved with student council/activities as the 12th Grade Dean.

Prior to Marlborough, I was a temporary instructor at Pasadena City College immediately after earning my MA in Math at UCLA. I did my undergraduate (also Math) at the University of Puget Sound in Washington.

Early on at Marlborough I learned a bit about Geometer's Sketchpad, but didn't do much with it other than a few demonstrations. Class periods have been no more than 45 minutes which has limited the kind of activities we can do in class. Next year, we move to 75 and 55 minute blocks and I'm hoping to do some more interactive activities, particularly with the Algebra II girls. I'm hoping this week with GeoGebra will be both fun and informative as well as inspiring. I've never used it before but am excited to see what we can do with it!
