I have been teaching at Moraine Valley Community College, which is located in a southwest suburb of Chicago, IL, for eleven years.
My undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) from Illinois Institute of Technology.
I earned a masters (M.S.) degree in pure mathematics and a doctor of arts (D.A.) degree in mathematics (subject area: differential geometry) from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I first learned about GeoGebra at an ICTCM meeting. I have been using various GeoGebra applets found on the web as demonstrations in the Calculus sequence and Linear Algebra classes. I joined this workshop to learn to create my own applets for my classes. I would also like to create lab assignments for students to create their own GeoGebra applets.
I have used Maple extensively in my classes for many years and have recently discovered Sage. I am very excited about using Sage in my classes in conjunction with GeoGebra. I just completed the PREP Sage workshop that was given a few weeks ago this summer.
