I am a Teaching Assistant Professor in the math department at NC State University.  It's a large research department, but my job is teaching focused and does not involve research.  I've worked here since receiving my PhD in math in 2008 from UMass-Amherst.

In the fall I will be teaching a course titled "Geometry for Secondary Teachers."  This is a course for graduate students in Math Education.  Some of them will be full time teachers attending school part-time and some of them will be full-time students who may have taught in the past, may be hoping to teach in the future, or may be interested in math education research and not classroom teaching.

I have never used GeoGebra and expect many of my students to be much more familiar with it than I will be!  Hopefully we can use it often in class and the more experienced students can provide GeoGebra support while I provide math support and direction.  The great thing about teaching teachers is that they are so willing to collaborate, help each other, and experiment in the classroom!

I'm currently working part time for a summer program for undergraduates and taking care of my 6 month old daughter full time, so I may occasionally disappear from the sessions this week to rescue her from disaster or tantrums.

I'm looking forward to working with all of you and learning about GeoGebra.
