Since GeoGebra is open source with an active community, it continues to develop. That means any description of how to install gets out of date. This page is current as of December 2015.
The current version of GeoGebra is release 5.0.
With recent releases the releases have been broken into a series of flavors of GeoGebra that run in different settings. We will start with an overview. If it feels daunting, remember that we will start with the desktop version as our home version. We can move to others as the situation calls for it.
The flavors include:
- The desktop application
- The Chrome application
- The web application
- The tablet application
- the cell phone application.
Release 5.0 - Desktop version
Release 5.0 is the current stable release. Since it is the official release, it has more options available. It is the version you will get from the download page at the main GeoGebra site. Click on the link for the appropriate operating system. Follow the instruction for downloading and installing. If not specified, the documentation on this site assumes we are working with the desktop version.
Release 5.0 - Web/Chrome version
With release 5, GeoGebra shifted to having a web version available. The interface is slightly different, but it can be run in a browser without installation. It can also be run as a Chrome app in the Crome browser. With the Chrome version, it can be run without an internet connect. To install the Chrome app in your browser, go to the Chrome app store and search for the app, then follow usual app installations instructions. For the browser version simply point your browser to http://web.geogebra.org/.

There are windows, iOS, and android versions available form the download page.
GeoGebra for Phones
