Current Teaching Assignment:
I have been teaching mathematics for 41 years in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District. I started teaching 8th and 9th before going to the high school. I have taught almost every course except Calculus. My current assignment is Pre-Calculus and dual credit College Algebra and Plane Trigonometry. This has been my basic assignment since 2002. Also, I teach Computer Science PreAP/AP as well as Web Mastering. I coach the Computer Science team.
Experience with GeoGebra:
I learned about GeoGebra at the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching (CAMT) in Houston, TX in 2006. I experimented with it for a year before joining the GeoGebra Forum in September 2007. Since this time I have been introducing my classes to GeoGebra's easy to use tools. Last summer, I attended prep10GeoGebra with Mike May and Russell Blyth. In addition, I went to and participant in the 1st GeoGebra Conference-North America where I met Mike and several of the developers of GeoGebra. Later, I presented a GeoGebra poster at the Joint Mathematics Meeting in New Orleans. Additionally, I have been presenting sessions at CAMT and at The Rio Grande Valley Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
