Russell Blyth

Russell Blyth received his B.Sc. (Hons.) from Massey University in New Zealand and his M.S. and Ph.D.  degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the latter in group theory.  He has been a faculty member at Saint Louis University since 1987.  Dr. Blyth has developed and used teaching material that incorporates technology into teaching in various mathematics courses including abstract algebra, linear algebra, and calculus since 1998. He has also made presentations or presented workshops on using technology in teaching to three national groups and one regional group of Project NExT fellows.  He copresented (with Dr. Julianne Rainbolt) PREP workshops on using GAP in teaching abstract algebra in the summers of 2003, 2004, and 2006.  He and Mike May, S.J. copresented PREP workshops on using Maple in teaching mathematics courses in the summers of 2005, 2006, and 2007 and on using GeoGebra in the summers of 2009 and 2010.
